Honorary Professorships announced

We are delighted to announce that two honorary professorships at the University of Nottingham have been awarded to our long-time collaborators Wouter Van Joolignen and Katharina Scheiter

 

Professor Dr Katharina Scheiter is head of the Multiple Representations Lab at the eibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien and full professor for Empirical Research on Learning and Instruction at the University of Tübingen. Her research draws upon fundamental cognitive theory to understand the processes underlying learning from multiple representations and them applies these to the design digital textbooks and tablet-based applications for education.

Professor Dr Wouter Van Joolignen is the scientific director of the Freudenthal Institute. In addition to overseeing the research of the institute, his personal research interests are in the use of digital technologies in education, such as simulations, modelling tools, creation tools and especially drawing tools.
